Lamps

I didn't notice the lamps until today
Each of them was hanging by a thread
In loneliness

Swinging as the wind blows
Giving off a little light
But together
Lighting up the whole place

I can't help
But see each of us in this world
As these lamps

Pesticides

Just like pesticides
Carrying diseases
That population is taking over this earth
Without us even realizing

We think we chased them away
But actually
They're already building their home
Beneath us
And maybe that's why sometimes
We get earthquakes
Because they're shaking our grounds
The foundation of our lives
That we didn't even bother building with our hearts

And when it shakes and trembles
That's when they conquer
Us

In a crowd

How do I find myself in a crowd
A place where we all seem the same
Maybe for this once
We feel alike

Aimlessly
We walk this life
Not knowing how
It should go about

Where's the guide
I think we're lost
One more time
Again and again

It happens all the time
That I think
Maybe
That's alright

Perhaps we just have to
Get used to
Life

Why am I like this?

Again and again
I ask myself

Why are you like that?
Why don't you like what everyone else likes?
Why do you have to make life difficult for yourself?
Why can't you just do what everyone else does?
Why can't you be like every other kid out there?
Why don't you just be what your parents tell you to be?
Why don't you just do what everyone else does for a living?
Why do you have to like something almost no one likes?
Why don't you simply live your life like how everyone else does it?

And most of all,
Why don't you like yourself

Between bars

Everyone makes mistakes
It's just that prisoners make 'recognized' mistakes
So what makes us better and higher
If our mistakes are just buried and hidden
While theirs are amplified, publicized and even punished

Perhaps we only appear more perfect
But deep inside
Nobody knows better than you do

Beauti-gly

The most beautiful people
Always seem to have
The deepest scars
A well of tears
A haunting past
A living nightmare
A bare future
And the strongest appearance

But still
That didn't stop them
From shining dimly
For those that can really see
The light within the darkness

And the beauty inside of what humans call ugly

Spears

I see the spears in all of your eyes
Piercing through my mind
I swear I wouldn't cry
But I know it hurts inside
No matter how much I deny

I wouldn't dare to say that there was one time
No one looked at me with those eyes
Right into my mind

Game of life

You start off with almost nothing
Thinking it's all fun and games
A walk in the park

Without even knowing
You're levelling up
And now
You have new 'abilities'

This thing called walking
Running and jumping
Just like any other game
And you thought that was all
But it's more than that

You start to have allies
Along with a couple of enemies
Just like how it usually works
Fighting battles after battles together
Thinking you're a team
But that's just what you think

At the end of the day
Your allies
Are nothing more than computer generated characters

Those you thought you could trust
In the end
Turns out to be merely an illusion
And you're back to ground zero

Of course
That's not all
You get thrown around
Into the deep ends
Of emptiness

Fighting for what you thought you are
Only to realize
That all this time
Your greatest enemy was yourself
And everything else didn't even exist
Even your allies and enemies

All these
Was just your imagination
And nothing more than that

Now
Knowing you stand alone

Forever

More than flowers

Flowers are like people

Fake flowers
Look good on the outside
But they're not real
And were never once alive

Real flowers
Have beautiful aspects
But too have some flaws
Just like real people
Needing maintenance
Sun water and love

But when they bloom
It's the most beautiful thing ever

Ignite: A fireplace in the winter

It's funny how humans reject Those that seem different When in fact They are special

It might take a lot for us To just Smile But they smile the brightest And ignite a fire Just from the simplest things

Warming up the entire world Just like a fireplace While we're the winter That colds the heart And harden smiles

Don't you think We should think About what we're thinking

We see them as aliens But they're only human
And perhaps To them We are the aliens Do you think they want to be born this way Not understanding so much in this seemingly simple world Don't you think they deserve the most love And your smile

We

Blind to our own blindness
Deaf to the calls of help
Silent to the loudest cry

Will we
Let our little heart grow
Or continue to walk
In this darkest light

Someone's eyes

I've walked the path
That I didn't go
Hear the voices
Of those I don't know

Now that my eyes have opened so wide
I'm afraid to look into someone's eyes
Knowing that they cried
